It was a blissful moment at Christ’s Cathedral Bugembe – the seat of Busoga Diocese when the one time bishop of the Charismatic Episcopal Church was received back in the church of Uganda.
Canon Samuel Lubogo Kamanya had for many years deserted Church of Uganda to join the Episcopal Charismatic Church, where he was subsequently enthroned as bishop until recently when he repented and returned.
While introducing him to a filled to capacity congregation at Christ’s Cathedral at Bugembe on Sunday 12th June 2022, the Bishop of Busoga Diocese Rt. Rev. Paul M.S Naimanhye said that Canon Lubogo was convicted to return home and put right with God and the church.
“After realizing and being convicted to return home, Canon Lubogo wrote to the Archbishop seeking pardon and restoration. But when the archbishop was taking long to respond, he approached me since he had copied to me the letter he wrote to the Archbishop. I then called the Archbishop who permitted me to receive him on his behalf” Bishop Naimanhye said.
