Annual C.O.U Heads of Schools Prayer Day in Busoga Diocese
On Tuesday the April 4, 2023 Busoga Diocese held the annual prayer day for School heads of all Church of Uganda founded institutions in the Diocese. The event was held at Christ’s Cathedral Bugembe, with the Rt. Rev. Dr. Paul Naimanhye, the Bishop of Busoga Diocese as the main celebrant.
The even started with a Holy Communion service, in which Bishop Naimanhye, referring to Hebrews 12:1-4, the compared the Head teachers’ work to a race which they should run and finish. He encouraged the Head teachers to stay put, endure, and finish the race.
He exhorted them to avoid detractors and do their work diligently til Busoga Schools shine.
The Bishop appreciated those head teachers who have come to understand and acknowledge that the schools they head belong the Church. He commended them for their support to the
Diocese in responding to the appeals in times of need.
In attendance were Diocesan staff, Archdeacons, the Board of Education members, among others.
In the plenary session after the service, the Chairman Board of Education, Busoga Diocese, Eng. James Muwuluke presented a Master piece paper in which he challenged the School heads to work hard, go an extra mile, be strong decision Makers and uphold integrity.
The day was attended by over 200 head teachers, headed by the Chairman COUHEA , Mr. Peter Mulala. The Diocesan Education officer, the Rev. Canon Joseph Kintu was at the helm of organizing the colourful event which ended with a sumptuous lunch
